Can cork plaster be skimmed?

Yes — but only with the correct materials depending on the background:

• Over breathable backgrounds (lime plaster, lime render, sand & cement, masonry):
  Cork plaster can be skimmed with lime plaster to maintain full breathability.
  Using a lime skim keeps the whole system vapour-open, allowing moisture to pass through naturally.
  
  

• Over gypsum backgrounds (non-breathable surfaces):
  If the wall already has a gypsum plaster base, cork plaster is applied and then skimmed with Multi-Finish to create a smooth decorative finish and ensure proper bonding
